News reported during the week of June 2, 2008

Hortonville Middle School

A huge thank you to all the PTO moms and dads from HMS and GMS for a successful 8th grade graduation dance on June 5 at HMS.  It was attended by approx. 160 students.  The prizes, DJ, snacks, and pizza were terrific.  The students had a great time and were well behaved.  Thanks to all those who helped plan and chaperone the event.

Hortonville Middle School Jazz band entertained New Londonites on Saturday at the Historic Walking Tour and totally WOWED us! Their talents are college level in my eyes, and I was so glad the Neenah Ambassadors band played prior to them because they stayed and ate chicken dinner and were able to hear the next generation at work. Really neat! From Loretta Schneider

I would like to thank the 8th grade and explorartory teams for the excellent 8th Grade Awards Night. It is always exciting to see parents, students and staff come together for such an event. I had several parents make comments on how professional the awardsseremony was. Again, thanks for all that you do for the students at HMS.

Hortonville Elementary School

Three cheers to Kelly Hietpas, Cindy Jaeckle, Laurie Lietzske, Sue Cismoski and Sonja Wheat for putting together a fabulous fieldtrip to a family farm.  The children enjoyed a covered wagon ride and a wide variety of farming experiences including feeding calves and riding a horse.  The children were even treated to farm fresh eggs that will be cooked as a follow-up activity to the terrific day.  It was a joy being along to chaperone and watch the kids learn, explore and have fun.  Thank you!!

Hortonville High School

Just want to thank Amber Laska for being the wonderful teacher that she is.  She really cares for the students in her class and goes the extra mile!  Making phone calls to parents to inform them of student concerns is much appreciated!!!!  Going above and beyond her call of duty.  Thank You and Keep up the great work!!!!!
