Male or Female?

	You can tell a male monarch from a female monarch by looking at the inside of the wings. When a monarch opens its wings, look for two small, black pouches on the lower wings. If you see these, you are looking at a male.
	Can you see the two pouches on this monarch? This monarch is a male. If the pouches were not present, the monarch would be a female.
	Can you tell which these three are? Look close! No pouches are present. If you said these were female monarchs, you were right!
