How to Make Your Own Rainstick

Materials:

-         1 cardboard tube (paper towel/ wrapping paper)

-         masking tape

-         1 small piece of corrugated cardboard

-         1 cup of beans or pebbles

-         wire or chicken-wire fencing

-         paint and paint brushes

Directions:

1. Cover one end of the cardboard tube with a round piece of corrugated cardboard and masking tape.
2. Pour the beans or pebbles to the bottom of the tube.
3. Mangle a few pieces of wire or some chicken-wire fencing so that it fits inside the tube (it should not be straight—you want the beans to hit the wire as they move around inside the tube)
4. Cover the other end of the tube with cardboard and masking tape.
5. Paint a design on the outside.
