Students will be reminded in line when the family balance is drops
to $10 per student, so they have ample time to bring in a payment.
Automated phone messages or emails will be sent as a reminder when
family balances are low. If the family balance does not have
enough money to cover purchases, a note will be sent home and the
student will be given an emergency meal. At that point,
charges will not be allowed on the account until a payment is made.
Students who receive free or reduced price meals have the same lunch
options as students who pay full price, however A la Carte snack
items are not included with lunch. Students who purchase them
on account are charged full price, regardless of whether they
receive free or reduced price meals. Parents should discuss
purchasing guidelines with their children in advance to prevent
unwelcome charges to their account.
Payments by check or cash are accepted in locked drop boxes in each
school. Please use an envelope, clearly marked with the
students first and last name, and lunch id. Payments made by
10 am will be available for lunch that day. Any money
remaining at the end of the school year will be transferred with the
student to the next grade.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to receive the phone calls?
No,
you just need to call our office and we will put you on our no call
list if you prefer. If you wish to be contacted again in the
future you just need to let us know.
Can I limit my child purchases on a la carte?
Yes,
you may put a dollar limit on the account per child or block the a
la carte option entirely. You just need to call our office and
we can set that up for you.
My child got an emergency meal and I never received the phone call,
why?
We
do calls on Mondays and Thursdays of every week. For example:
if your account had $10.50 in it on Monday, you would not receive a
call. If you have three MS or HS students using your family
account, the balance from three regular lunch purchases would be
$4.65 on Wednesday morning, which is less than needed for all three
to eat. If you have more than one child using your family balance,
checking your balance on line more than once per week is a good
idea. If your phone number changes, make sure you let us know
that as well.
