Dear parents, community members and students:
I have been honored to serve as District Administrator for the Hortonville Area School District for the past seven years. We have a great district with teachers who work hard every day, administrators who are true advocates for students and learning, support staff who care about each child, and Board members who are invested in the work that we do at HASD.
When I think back over the last seven years, here are some of the main highlights. (There are so many to mention.) These were all made possible due to the dedication of those who work and live in our community.
-Passage of $25,000,000 referendum and subsequent building of NGES, new Transportation Center, safety upgrades to each building, classroom addition on to HMS, and upgrades to Hortonville High School.
-Living our HASD Mission statement-(Our community ensures every student learns at the highest level).
-Strategic Planning including the following strands: closing the achievement gap, personalized learning with technology, communication/community engagement and safety (physical and social-emotional)
-Wisconsin DPI District Report Card: Exceeds Expectations
Each of our schools Met or Exceeded Expectations
-Dr. Tony Evers’ (State Superintendent visit) recognition of HASD and our school based mental health program.
-Professional learning community culture shift to one of collaboration, communication, analysis of data, and standards
-Educator Effectiveness--HASD was one of a couple of district’s who piloted the CESA 6 Stronge model, which is now the state’s model.
-Fiscally responsible and accountable--As our district continues to grow, we have been diligent and prudent with taxpayer dollars.
This letter of retirement/resignation is with great thanks to the Hortonville Area School District. I will be retiring from the district this summer.
I am excited to be able to work with Todd Timm over the next couple of months, as he transitions to the next District Administrator at HASD. Mr. Timm has been the Principal at Hortonville High School for the last four years. The knowledge that he has of the district, our mission and goals, plus the relationships that he has developed over the years with some of our staff, parents, and especially students will be a great asset in his next role. I wish Mr. Timm all the best as HASD is a great school district.
Thank you for your support these past seven years!
