The EXPLORE program is designed to help 8th and 9th graders explore a broad range of options for their future.  It prepares students not only for their high school coursework but for their post-high school choices as well.

In the Hortonville Area School District the EXPLORE Test serves as the "entry point" into ACT's College and Career Readiness System.

8th - 12th Grade Transition

1.  8th/9th grade (EXPLORE Test) - Preparing for high school studies

2.  10th grade (PLAN Test) - Planning and preparing for college and the workplace.

3.  11th/12th grade (ACT Test) - Begin readiness for life after high school

When do students take the EXPLORE test?  Late September of 8th grade and 9th grade.
