The Joy Music Brings
The Holidays are a busy time for all, but especially busy for musicians at HASD. Throughout November and December many special events took place to share the joy of music.
Many students performed in their annual concerts as a way to start off the holiday season on the “right note.” The performances highlighted classroom learning as family and friends watched the musicians shine. “My favorite part of putting on a performance, is watching how excited my students are, and seeing the joy that it brings to those around them”, said Mrs. Mowrer, HES Music Teacher.
During the holiday season, students in the Hortonville Area School District shared their talents with those in the community: small groups of high school band students performed, GMS and HMS Show Choirs performed at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center alongside Boogie and the Yo-Yoz, groups of carolers rang the Salvation Army Bells at area businesses while other groups performed at assisted living and nursing homes. Some student musicians even traveled to other schools in the district to share their talents and explain to younger students what joy music has brought them.
Whether you were a performer, an audience member, or someone who just happened to be in the right place at the right time, the Hortonville Area Music Faculty hopes that music added a little more joy to your life during the holiday season.
