Course Description:
Students will be able to:
- Use the basic accounting principles and procedures that are applied to accounting records kept for business that operate in the private enterprise economy.
- Explain and appreciate the importance of profit in helping to ensure continued business operations.
- Describe the three major types of business organizations in a private enterprise economy and explain how accounting procedures differ for the three.
- Develop proficiency in the use of the computer to maintain accounting records.
- Describe the types of on-the-job activities that are required of entry-level workers.

Be Courteous to Everyone
- When a teacher or student is addressing the class everyone listens
- Swearing will not be permitted or tolerated in this classroom
- Ethnic, racial, physical or mental health jokes or comments will not be permitted
- Humor is encouraged and welcomed but not in an impertinent manner
Follow all Safety Procedures
- Know and understand the safety rules in the school handbook
- Horseplay will not be tolerated
- The computers will only be used when permitted
Take Responsibility for your Education
- Turn your quality work in on time
- If I wasn’t clear, ask questions
- Get all assignments if you are going to be absent

Cheating Policy
- A student who chooses to cheat or plagiarizes will receive no credit for the assignment and may be withdrawn from and/or receive a failing grade for the class.
Homework
Because of the amount of class time given to complete an assignment, no late work will be accepted.

Bring in a Kleenex box for 5 extra credit points by the end of the week!
