Hello 8th graders! Welcome to the world of economics!
This unit will be completely different from the other units we have done this year in 8th grade social studies. During this unit, you will have the chance to buy and sell in the stock market, become a business owner, learn about different economies, and explore laws, such as supply and demand, that are the basis for all businesses and economies. Since you have already completed the “That’s Life” unit in your math classes, you should have a great knowledge base about some of these real world concepts.

se you have the opportunity to participate in a stock market game online, many things you learn and activities you complete will be done online. The internet has some great resources and tools that will make learning about economics interesting and fun for you. This is an important unit that will help you get ready for you future and for the real world.
