Awards
The Hortonville Middle School Physical Education Program and the teaching staff has won several awards:
2001
The Hortonville Area School District Physical Education Program won the Carol M. White PEP Grant. The school district was one of only 18 programs in the country to win the award that year.
2004
Crystal Gorwitz won the NASPE National Physical Education Teacher of the Year Award.
2005
The Hortonville Middle School Physical Education Program was awarded the STAR Level 2 award from the National Association of Sport and Physical Education (NASPE).
The STARS project identifies and recognizes QUALITY PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS that provide meaningful learning opportunities for ALL students. STARS schools exemplify excellence in teaching knowledge and skills of motor development and health related fitness.
2006
Hortonville Middle School was chosen as a pilot school by the Bill Clinton Foundation for the Healthy Generation Project.
