Things to include In your lesson

1. A short history of your poem – where did it originate?

2 A professional example of your kind of poem

2. An example you created that demonstrates your type of poem

3. Specific guidelines on how to create your type of poem

4 A visual – handouts or overhead that gives an explanation and example of what it is / how to create it

5. Any other things that might aide you in teaching the lesson/helping with understanding

6.Make sure that each one of you is completing and sharing (presenting) his/her part of the lesson

 

When introducing your lesson…

1. Introduce yourselves, I am Ms./Mr. so & so

2.Tell us the type of poem you will be teaching us about

 

When completing your lesson….

1.  Ask if there are any questions or things that may need to be clarified

2. Help individual students if needed

 

*Your lesson should be approximately 10-15 minutes – the main purpose is to fully explain the lesson
