FIELD TRIPS
Third graders go on two field trips. They visit Bubolz Nature Preserve and the caves at Ledgeview Nature Center. The purposes of these field trips are an extension of the curriculum and hands-on learning experiences.
Bubolz Nature Preserve: A highlight of the trip is the geocaching component, where students use GPS devices to find many hidden treasures! Students trek the trails all day, while learning about animal adaptations, the life cycle of frogs, and how to be observers.
Ledgeview Nature Center: Be prepared for lots of physical activity, dirty clothing, bats, spiders, and more! This is an all-day trip outside. Students become spelunkers who explore the formation of, and life inside of caves.
