Class Preparation
Each day students will need to bring their textbook, notebook, pencil, and possibly a calculator. Coming to class without these items may result in an infraction or lunch date with Mr. Cordy.
Classroom Management
I expect each student to adhere to the behavioral guidelines explained in his/her handbook. In other words, please respect the teacher, your classmates, and the objects in the classroom. If someone is talking, give them your undivided attention. During work time, let your classmates complete their work.
Grading
Daily Assignments (40%). Students will be given assignments on a daily basis. These assignments will be checked for accuracy the following day.
Quizzes/Notes (30%). We will have a number of quizzes throughout the school year. Each quiz will be graded for accuracy. Students will be allowed to use their notes on all quizzes.
Tests/Notes (30%). We will have a number of tests throughout the school year. Each test will be graded for accuracy. Students will be allowed to use their notes on all tests.
Corrections
Students can correct any HOMEWORK assignment. In order to make corrections, students need to retry their incorrect problems on a separate sheet of paper. Then, staple that piece of paper to the original assignment, and turn it in.
Missing Work
Homework assignments are checked for accuracy the following day. Incomplete assignments will NOT be accepted. However, each student will be given 4 free homework passes. These homework passes let the student turn in an assignment ONE day late without the assignment being considered late.
Cheating
Cheating will not be tolerated! If someone is caught cheating, all students involved will be given a 5 point infraction and an "F" for that assignment.
