Mission Statement
The Hortonville Area School District, in partnership with our community, will provide ALL students with challenging and diverse opportunities to become enthusiastic lifelong learners who will build the future.

 What is upcycling?
Upcycling is creating useful products out of unrecyclable waste, thus reducing the amount of plastic in our landfills. Terracycle is one company that upcycles waste by turning it into products such as fencing, coolers, binders, speakers, and kites.

How does Terracycle get waste products to upcycle?
TerraCycle partners with schools by paying them to collect used packaging. Schools collect specific used packaging, send it to TerraCycle, and the company pays the school an average of two cents per item. TerraCycle then uses those items to create affordable products. Please visit the Terracycle website for more information.

     How Can You Help?

1. View our poster of collectable items by clicking on the link below. Print and hang it where you can refer to easily.

2. Start collecting as many of those used products as possible.

3.   Drop off plastic waste items in the cafeteria at Greenville Elementary. There are bins for each type of product. Students will send the collections to TerraCycle to be upcycled.

Please start collecting today and join us in this exciting and worthwhile cause!
