Get the Red Out is a comprehensive investigation into personal finance and has been one of our most memorable projects.
Get the Red Out incorporates personal finance and writing explored in four facets: Financial Literacy, Career Investigation, a Stock Market Simulation, and a Budgeting Simulation. We'll wrap up with a Job Expo Simulation at Project Presentation Night on Tuesday, March 27th.
The culmination of our Get the Red Out project puts a distinct twist on Project Presentation Night as students will apply for jobs, submit resumes and applications, and participate in mock interviews; we hope you will consider participating in Project Hire: A Job Expo Simulation. In this arena-style recruiting simulation, students will act as job seekers meeting with real or fictional business representatives and "potential employers" in booths and at tables and participate in the job interview process.
Any and all parents, community members, and businesses are encouraged to be involved in our Project Hire Job Expo. If you can answer yes to one or more of the following, we need you:
- Can you represent a real or fictional business or organization that is seeking employees?
- Could you provide some basic information about the real or fictional business or organization that you are representing (ideally before Monday, March 12)?
- Can you provide a job description of one or more positions that you would be trying to fill?
- Would you be willing to participate in our job expo simulation by interviewing several of our students and deciding which one(s) you would "hire" based on their interviews and resumes?
