About Us
Greenville Middle School opened its doors in the fall of 2002 for the first time to approximately 375 grade 5-8 students. Most students attending Greenville Middle School attended Greenville Elementary School which is situated right next door to Greenville Middle School. Recently we were awarded the Exemplary Middle School Award from the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators. Approximately 565 grade 5-8 students will attend GMS for the 2010-11 school year.
In addition to a five hour core academic block, extensive curricular offerings are available to our students. They include, two foreign languages, computer education, art, health, physical education, band, chorus, chorus and music lab.
Depending on a student's grade level, co-curricular activities such as: football, basketball, track, cross country, volleyball, wrestling, student council, forensics, yearbook, newspaper, show choir, jazz band, and many others are also available for students to participate in during and after school. GMS has combined teams with their sister school Hortonville Middle School in track, cross country and wrestling.
Honor Level Discipline is an incentive program which recognizes students for good behavior. It provides awards for students who make good choices. It also provides consistent and fair consequences for students who make poor choices. The primary purpose of this program is to help each student grow towards becoming a responsible adult.
Greenville Middle School recognizes that successful students are encouraged and supported when the school, parents, student, and community all work together. This is evidenced by the many contributions GMS does for community organizations. The biggest is the GMS/GES Food Drive that annually raises approximately 8,000 items for the Hortonville/Dale Food Pantry. Since it's inception in 1993, the drive has contributed 81,148 items with an estimated weight of 16 tons. This is just one example of how "GMS Gives Back to the Community".
