ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE FOR HORTONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Hortonville High School Tutoring/Mentoring Program
Please contact Chris Hunt at email or 779-7933 and leave a message. Mr. Hunt recruits HHS students to help students who need help in various academic subjects. The tutors receive community service hours for giving up their study hall time in order to tutor. Tutoring is done during the school day during the students’ mutual study hall periods.
YMCA Tutoring
The Appleton YMCA offers free tutoring services to area students in grades 1-12. The tutoring program runs from 4:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. Tutoring is offered in a wide variety of subjects. Depending on tutor availabiltiy and student needs, students can have one or tw appointments a week. Vital Tutoring
Lawrence University offera a Vital Tutoring program for students in grades K-12. Vital tutors help students who have academic troubles in many different areas, including: reading, writing, spelling, basic and advanced math, science, social studies, and foreign languages. You may class the Volunteer and Community Service Center at Lawrence for more information at 832-6644. You may also request a tutor by going to the Lawrence University web site: www.lawrence.edu. Look for the “Volunteer Center” section and click on the “Request a Vital Tutor” link.
Homework Helpline
Dial 1-800-222-2912 for help in all school subjects. You can call this number from 4:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.
