About Us

School Description:
In the past 20 years, student numbers in grades 9 through 12 have grown from 150 to an average of  295 in each of the four grades.  The high school faculty is composed of 103 full time professional staff with an average twenty years classroom experience.  Overall student-faculty ratio is approximately 12:1. Career statistics gathered in the past five years indicate approximately 75 percent of graduating seniors attend post-secondary educational institutions.  Two percent enter the military and the remaining 23 percent enter the work force or engage in other pursuits.

Hortonville High School students have the opportunity to begin their post secondary educations while still in high school.  Fourteen high school classes are now articulated with Fox Valley Technical College. This means students receive high school credit and technical college credit while taking the class here at the high school.  The Youth Options program enables students to leave the high school campus to take courses during their junior and/or senior years at either a university or at a technical college  The Advanced Placement program gives students the opportunity to pursue college level courses such as physics, chemistry, biology, English Literature and Composition, Spanish, and calculus while in high school.   In turn, students receive advanced placement in college or actual college credit.  Seniors who desire the opportunity to develop job skills in an area related to post high school career goals are encouraged to apply for School Supervised Work Experience.  In addition to job placement, students learn about career assessment, college survival/student success, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, career decision making, problem solving, and successful transition from school to work. Distance learning through the K-12 Schools/College Alliance for Distance Education (KSCADE) provides students with the opportunity to take courses during the school day from other locations via video network.

With unparalleled parent support for its strong athletic programs, its unrivaled music department, and forensics and debate teams that go toe to toe with the best in the country, Hortonville High is a college prep learning center with a rural heart providing students with urban opportunity.
