Welcome to Hortonville High School - Learning Together!
Hortonville High School has a lasting and proud tradition of providing an excellent education for all students. Whether you focus on academics or our co-curriculars, Hortonville High School offers one of the most rigorous, well rounded educations in the area. We have high expectations for all students and deliver instruction within curicula that is appropriate and personal for each students' post-secondary needs.
Hortonville High School has grown considerably over the past ten years and enrolls just under 1,100 students in grades nine through twelve. This growth has given us many opportunities to expand our academic and co-curricular offerings. We are fortunate to offer a vast spectrum of academic courses here at our high school, through KSCADE (distance learning network), or through Youth Options offerings on other campuses. We have numerous Advanced Placement classes and articulated courses with area Technical Colleges so students can earn credits for college while in high school. We also encourage students to participate in some of our diverse school sponsored co-curriculars or clubs.
This summer over 50 district staff members spent two days in June focusing on our professional development goals for 2011-12. The three main goals for this year are: Continuing our integration of 21st Century skill, aligning curriculum with the Common Core State Standards, and preparing for transition to Professional Learning Communities. Each building planned this year's professional development calendar and activities to provide information and opportunities for staff to learn and grow. We know that education is being challenged with the constant changes in our society and we must also change in order to provide the best education for our students.
