Mission Statement
The Hortonville Area School District, in partnership with our community, will provide ALL students with challenging and diverse opportunities to become enthusiastic lifelong learners who will build the future.

As part of the Speech and Language Program we work with students that have struggles with receptive and expressive language skills.   Receptive language involves comprehension of word vocabulary, grammar in spoken language, problem solving skills and social communication skills.  Expressive language includes sound articulation (how a child makes the sounds in words), oral language expression and fluency of speech. We also work with children that have fluency (stuttering) and voice disorders.

For students to receive services they must be evaluated and meet federal criteria.  Once the evaluation process is completed and a child is found to have a Speech and Language disability they will receive services from one of the two Speech/Language Pathologists working at Greenville Elementary School.  Julia Andersen works primarily with preschool, kindergarten, first and second grade students and Sara Ratchman works primarily with preschool, third, fourth and private/parochial school students.
