A Successful 2nd ‘Spotlight on Education’ Expo for Hortonville Area School District
Hortonville Area School District had a great turnout at the Spotlight on Education Expo on Thursday, April 11th. With having had over 70 presenters, the Expo provided a forum for HASD schools, community organizations, and businesses to collaborate as well as showcase the wonderful educational programs and services available in the area.
Gabrielle Laughlin, real estate agent at Coldwell Banker in Greenville, was presenting at the Expo for her second year in a row. She explained, "I really enjoyed taking part in this event because I had the opportunity to see many people in the community that I don't always have the chance to see and reconnect. At the same time, I can truly see all the wonderful things that the school district does to ensure our children have the highest standards in education. A great event to bring the district and the community together."
Booths at the Expo displayed everything from robotics to the use of iPads in the classroom, giving people who attended the Expo plenty to explore, and also gave them an opportunity to learn more about programs they may not have known about before that night. The event definitely brought everyone together to support district initiatives, and “it was rewarding to see students, teachers, administrators, businesses, community members, and families all come together to support learning at the Expo,” says Edwards.
Expo committee members would like to thank everyone who braved the weather to attend this year's event! Also, thank you to the many staff members, community organizations, and students who participated to share the wonderful ideas and work they do. We hope to see everyone at next year's Spotlight on Education Expo! Check out pictures here: //www.hasd.org/district/expo2013pictures.cfm
