HASD Planning for its 2nd Spotlight on Education Expo
Due to the great turnout and positive feedback from last year’s Spotlight on Education Expo, the Hortonville Area School District has been working on a second Expo, which will take place on April 11, 2013! Last year’s Expo showcased over 80 programs and businesses, and we only hope that the number grows for this year’s Expo.
The Spotlight on Education Expo provides an opportunity for the HASD schools, community organizations, and businesses to collaborate and showcase all of the wonderful educational programs and services being offered in our area. Now more than ever, well-implemented school and community partnerships are helping students succeed in school as they prepare for their futures. Effective and ongoing partnerships generate mutual benefits, which are designed to improve the education of all students. The Spotlight on Education Expo provides the powerful forum and audience needed for showcasing the many learning activities and opportunities available.
What types of things will you see at the Expo? Well, booths at last year’s event displayed everything from robotics to mummified chickens, and from archery to writing children’s stories; Attendees and participants had plenty to explore and learn about. The event definitely brought everyone together to support district initiatives, and “it was rewarding to see students, teachers, administrators, businesses, community members, and families all come together to support learning at the Expo,” said Erin Edwards, a member of the Expo Steering Committee.
Make sure to save the date of April 11th, 2013 (6-8pm) to attend this fun-filled event of exploring and collaborating. The Spotlight on Education Expo will be held at Hortonville High School in the field house, commons, and auditorium. Students and teachers, we’d love to see the various projects you are working on, so come out and present! If you’re an area business owner or community organization, we encourage you to sign up to be a part of this event; it’s a great way to connect with and present your great services to the community!
