If you can think fast and have a knowlege base in a certain area or variely of areas than Quiz bowl is for you. Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl is an extra-curricular activity for 5th through 8th grade middle school students. Students work in grade level teams to answer timed questions using an on-line format competing against students at the same grade level from around the state in the fall and from around the country in the spring. To prepare for competition students practice answering questions and working as a team. Question come from a variety of categories, from math to sports, from science to music, from art to literature. Team members work to increase speed and accuracy using buzzers and pratice quizzes. They broaden their knowledge base using both on-line games and interpersonal activities. Reading is another way to extend that knowledge base. .
There are two seasons, one in the fall, early October through mid November and one in the spring, early March through mid April. Students may participate in either or both. Days and times of practices vary with season and grade level. Come check it out. Listen for announcements and look for posters or check back at this site for date and time details.
