BEEP BEEP, BEEP BEEP. I reached over and pressed the snooze button on my alarm. The sunlight seeped through the window. Why did I have my alarm on in the first place? Oh yeah. I`m going to my Father`s place. My mom and dad divorced when I was five. My mom, she wanted someone with more money and a better job. My dad, he didn`t want to divorce. His job is in the forest. He makes sure that no one smokes or harms the wildlife and vegetation. My mom is always going out with the man she`s engaged to. His name is Marco and he only cares about money, protection, and woman. “Brian! You need to get up so you can get to the airport on time. Remember!? You`re staying at your father`s house.”
“Call him by his name!” Brian demanded. “No! No one shall speak his name in this house!” called his mother, Susan. “Ron. Ron, Ron, Ron.” Brian got out of his camouflage bed and started toward his closet. Then he stopped. What would he wear? It needed to be thin layers because it is really hot there. But yet it needs to be good for hiking, camping, hunting, and many more. Brian looked through his shirts hanging up in his closet.
“Too thick. To fancy. Ah here we go.”
Brian put on a camouflage shirt, long sleeves but arid, then packed a few more like that in his dark blue suitcase. When he was done Brian closed the closet and looked through his dresser drawers.
“Why do I have so many pairs of warm pants? It`s not likes it gets cold here. I mean, I’m in Tennessee!”
Brian looked some more, where were his favorite pairs of pants. After going through most of his pants Brian found a few pairs of shorts and a pair of pants. Two of the shorts were blue with a yellow line down the sides. The other one were a deep red and white down the sides. The pair of pants were loose and had a softer jean material on the inside. They were nice because they had those tiny holes in them so you wouldn’t get too hot.
Brian put on the pair of shorts that was blue with the yellow stripe. Not quite a good style but who was he to complain. It’s not like he would be a fashion model.
Brian also packed his pocket knife, his compass, a canteen, and his phone. If he would get lost or stuck he could call someone.
“Brian! You’re going to be late!” Brian`s mother yelled.
“Coming!”
Brian grabbed his suitcase and ran downstairs. Once he got his shoes on he got in the car. His mother was already there so they drove away to the airport. Once Brian got through security and onto the plane the plane lifted off. Brian had a seat to himself, which he was happy about. He didn’t want to be put with a mother and her crying baby, or a snoozing old grandma/grandpa. Brian fell asleep for most of the plane ride.
When the plane landed everyone got off. Brian went to the entrance. And waited, and waited until his dad was finally here to pick him up.
I'm having it where something happens and Brian has to survive. |
