7th grade Spanish
7th grade Spanish is the last REQUIRED world language class for students in HASD. Future study of a World Language is optional, and is more academic as compared to what students do in their elementary school FLES program.
As such, 7th grade Spanish serves as a bridge between FLES and high school level work -- for those who have attended GMS it is a bit more challenging than previous years. GMS students should expect to put forth time and effort both in and out of class to succeed in 7th grade Spanish.
7th grade Spanish classes meet every other day, all year long. Our cultural focus is Mexico and topics include: conversational questions and answers, weather, clothing, and family. GMS seventh grade Spanish units review and expand upon content learned in FLES and introduce students to the foundational concepts of gender of nouns, adjective agreement, and regular verb conjugation.
