I grew up in the country near Manitowoc, Wisconsin and went to a small school in the village of Valders. My favorite class when I was in second-grade was reading! I knew already at this age that I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My sister and I always played school in my parents' basement. (I was usually the teacher since she is four years younger than me.) I thoroughly enjoyed my childhood and was involved in many different activities including volleyball, basketball, track and field, softball, band, and choir among other things. One of the unique things about my childhood is that my entire family lived within one mile of each other! This means that I got to spend a lot of time with my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. We still see each other all the time today!
I moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin in the fall of 2003 for college. I met my husband, Joe in 2006. We got married in July of 2010. It was one of the top two days of my life! The other being the day my twin girls, Sophie and Elsie were born in 2012. Every day is an adventure. We moved to Greenville in 2014 and truly enjoy being a part of this community.
Some things I enjoy include reading, going for walks, drinking coffee (my students get to know this about me really quickly!), spending time with family and friends, shopping, sports and singing.
I am glad that I got to share a bit about myself with you. I can't wait to learn more about you!
