Password creation should be taken quite seriously. A strong password is one that you will never forget, but even your family or closest friend would never guess. People often use extremely secure passwords like J!*xurQ1# that are so difficult to remember or extremely unsecure to start with like Jonny (the name of a brother). At Hortonville Middle School we have some specific requirements for creating secure passwords.
Password Rules and Guidelines:
1) Eight characters in length - 8 = ••••••••
2) A mixture of the following characters:
Letters (at least one capital letter)
Numbers
Symbols
2) One or more numbers
3) One or more symbols - example of symbols @#./?!%&*
Password Examples: cars.148 148.cars soccer#1 b-ball#1 1.f-ball kitten.9
Log in to your school lab computer with your user name, which is your first name, then your last name. All lower case and no space between your first and last name. Ex. jensmith
Each year your password will be reset to Student.123 so you will start with that password and then be asked to reset it to your new one for the year. You cannot use the same password as last year, but you only need to change it by one character if you choose.
