Hortonville High School athletics competes in the Fox Valley Association conference, which begins its 51st season of competition during the 2020-21 school year. The Fox Valley Association is one of the oldest athletic conferences in Wisconsin with six of its seven original members still intact from its founding in 1970. 

With 10 schools totaling an enrollment of over 15,000 students, the conference spans the length of Lake Winnebago from Kaukauna to Fond du Lac. Fox Valley Association schools are members of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) and the conference sponsors 20 championship sports. In the Spring of 2019 the WIAA Board of Control passed a statewide football only conference realignment. This moved the Hortonville High School Football team out of the FVA conference and into a new football only conference called the Valley Football Association. One other FVA team, Appleton West moved with Hortonville to this conference for football. The remaining teams that make up this football only conference come from the Wisconsin Valley Conference (WVC).
