When you enter Greenville Elementary you are welcomed into a warm, inviting, and friendly building. You will see students as readers and writers that are actively engaged in their learning. You will see mathematicians building foundational skills while solving problems in multiple ways. You will see children navigating a very complex social structure by making mistakes and learning to regulate their emotions in a safe way. This environment fosters learning through a variety of educational experiences.
The school walls are alive with student art, writings, and other reflective works from the content areas of science, social studies, language arts, and math.
Our dedicated, caring instructional staff works continuously to develop and match instructional approaches and strategies that meet the needs and interests of all students. The Greenville Elementary staff is dedicated to helping students learn and is very giving of their knowledge, time, and talents to foster growth in students.
Greenville Elementary offers Art, Music, Physical Education and Spanish classes in addition to the respective grade level course of study. Individualized programming is also offered for students with special needs. Academic Intervention and ELL (English Language Learning) classes are available. Learners in each content area have access to the three tiers of learning.
Additional services that are offered with support from our valuable parent volunteers and our active Parent Teacher Organization include: student book exchange, reading incentive programs, assemblies, reading in the library, and monthly family events. Polar Pal volunteers also give time during the day to help with supervision of lunch and recess and to just be another trusted adult in the building.
Our character traits are respect, caring, honesty and responsibility. We continue to model high expectations for each of these traits, and we focus on a different trait depending on data.
The home, community, Parent Teacher Organization, Greenville staff and students are partners in providing a learning atmosphere that view children as unique individuals with specific abilities, needs, talents and a self-concept that is best enhanced in a safe, challenging learning environment.
