- Monday starts the kickoff of our spring cleaning on tardies, this means tardy sweeps will start on Monday. What does that mean exactly? Teachers, please close your door at the start of the class period, if you get to class late you must come to the office to a pass and you will be marked tardy. Teachers, please write students up if they have frequent tardies (3 or more). You will receive a lunch detention moving forward if a teacher writes an office referral for your tardies. Teachers, please be sure to copy myself and Mr. Lawrence on notifications for those write-ups. You should never be tardy to class after lunch, you have plenty of time to use the bathroom during lunch. Remember, three in the bathroom, if it is full, wait your turn in the hallway area outside of the bathroom. Speaking of bathroom tardies… if you need to use the bathroom between classes and think you will be late, go to your classroom first, get permission from the teacher to get a pass, sign out and then go. If you come late from the bathroom without getting a pass first you will be marked tardy. Again, go directly to your class, ask permission to go if you think you will be late and use the pass. Thanks to everyone for your hard work on this, it is appreciated!

- Students just a reminder regarding cell phones. All cell phones need to be powered off and in your lockers throughout the day. At no time should phones be in locker rooms or bathrooms for any reason, this includes before or after school.
- Attention students: We’re now entering the final 6 weeks of the school year! While these weeks will go by quickly, there’s still important work to be done—academically and personally. This is a great time to double down on your efforts, stay focused, and give it your best as we finish the year strong. In addition to your academic goals, don’t forget the importance of continuing to grow your Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) skills. Let’s keep working on being respectful, responsible, and resilient—supporting one another, managing stress in healthy ways, and staying engaged in our school community. Let’s make the most of every day and finish this year with pride and purpose.

Students from Hortonville Middle School (HMS), Fox West Academy (FWA), Greenville Middle School (GMS), and Hortonville High School (HHS) demonstrated outstanding musical talent at the District Solo & Ensemble Festivals held last weekend. Many musicians earned top ratings, with several qualifying for the state competition at the end of April. At HMS and FWA, students in grades 5 through 8 participated in 42 events, earning an impressive 36 gold medals and six silver medals. This year, HMS and GMS Swing Choirs joined forces for the first time to compete as a large group, featuring students in grades 6-8. After months of dedicated Saturday rehearsals and twice-weekly before-school practices, the group performed two vocal jazz pieces, earning a silver medal for their performance. Shoutout to Karma CoenenSchroeder, an 8th-grade student at Fox West Academy, who received a 1* rating for her vocal solo, securing a place at the state competition. At GMS, 67 band students participated in 52 events, with two 7th-grade musicians, Jenna Sargent and Tenley DeBrock, earning state competition qualifications for their solo performances. In choir, 19 students competed in 14 events, with 11 earning a gold rating and three receiving silver ratings. At HHS, students continued the District’s tradition of musical excellence. The choir participated in 26 events, with 14 qualifying for the state competition. The HHS band showcased its talent in 44 events, with 21 advancing to state. Students put in countless hours of practice before and after school, as well as on weekends, to prepare for these events. It takes tremendous dedication and courage to perform in front of an audience and a judge, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishments! The hard work and commitment our students display year after year at Solo & Ensemble is inspiring, and these results are a testament to their dedication and passion for music. We would like to extend our congratulations to all participating students on their performances and their achievements, and wish those advancing to the state competition in April the best of luck! #RollBears
