Welcome and thank you for visiting my webpage!
Growing up in a family of educators, teaching has always been in my genes. I learned from a very young age that education provides individuals with endless opportunities to enrich and grow their lives in positive directions. As a teacher, I strive to create a classroom environment that functions as a collaborative team where everyone feels safe, welcomed, and appreciated. I believe in fostering my instruction to meet the individual needs of all of my students in order to help them achieve the highest level of learning!
I graduated in December 2015 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor's Degree in education (On, Wisconsin!). After graduating, I moved to Sheboygan where I spent the last five months teaching middle school special education. After my fiance accepted an engineering job in this area, I left Sheboygan to continue my teaching career in the Hortonville Area School District. I am excited to say that this will be my first full year of teaching!
To dive deeper into my background, I grew up in Elkhorn, Wisconsin with my parents and two older brothers. With my brothers as my role models, I spent most of my childhood playing any sport I could get my hands (or feet) on. I graduated from Elkhorn Area High School in 2011 and took off to UW-Madison to pursue a degree in education where my love of sports continued as I cheered on the Badgers each year, even making it to see the basketball team play in two Final Fours in Dallas and Indianappolis. At UW, I met my fiance, Nick. He proposed in January 2016 on a snowy hike in Door County and we are currently planning a fall wedding for October 2016. Nick and I love to be active and can usually be found outdoors hiking, swimming, boating, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, playing sports or taking our rescue dog, Benji (a 1.5 year-old collie) for runs and walks. We love to travel and are anxiously awaiting our honeymoon to Ireland next summer where we will visit all of the places that I fell in love with through my study abroad program in college.
I am so excited to be teaching in such a fabulous school district and I look forward to all of the possibilities that this school year has to offer!
