1-2-3 Magic (3-12 years): A two week, video based behavior management workshop that teaches you how to STOP unwanted behavior and START wanted behavior. Also learn how to deal with testing and manipulation.
Active Parenting for Step Families: This workshop is excellent preparation for those considering step-parenting, roles of step-parents, effective communication, problem-solving, differences in values, styles of parenting, realistic expectations, and setting limits. This course is a six week course, BUT REGISTRANTS CAN FEEL FREE TO JOIN AT ANY TIME. The class fee is $20.00 per person (one time only) and will include a book (scholarships may be available by calling Parent Connection). Each person must register separately for the presentation. Child care may be available under Active Parenting of Step-Families Child Care.
Love and Logic (5-13 years):

Learn practical techniques for raising responsible kids! This class is primarily for parents of children 6-13 years of age. Learn to: recognize the 4 steps of responsibility, identify who is in control over the situation, offer appropriate choices, set limits, recognize empathetic responses, design appropriate and logical consequences. Effective communication, choices, and consequences are the cornerstones of this interactive three-week series. Cost is $10 per person and includes a workbook. Please make checks payable to Parent Connection. Childcare may be available, please register separately for the Love and Logic Child Care session.

Raising Your Spirited Child: Learn how to build your child’s strengths and avoid labels that hurt their creativity and spirit. This three-week workshop offers parents a more positive and rewarding approach.
Two Homes, No Battles: Successful co-parenting: for divorcing, separating, custodial and non-custodial parents. Don't let your children become casualties during and after the divorce! Discover practical ideas and skills to create a more nurturing environment. Understand that children differ in their reactions to divorce at different ages. Know that divorce will be a time of transition, but need not devastate a family. Learn what parents can do to make the transition less traumatic in this one night, 2 hrs. class. The cost is $5.00 per person (scholarships are available, call 739-4226 X127 for more information). In order to reserve your spot in this class your payment is due 1 week prior to the start date unless other arrangements have been made by calling Andrea at 739-4226 x108. Please make your check payable to Parent Connection and return it in the envelope provided. EACH PERSON MUST REGISTER SEPARATELY FOR THIS PROGRAM. Understanding Autism and Aspergers: Helping My Child: In this free, 1 hrs. presentation you will gain insight on how Autism and Aspergers affects your child's social behaviors, thinking and communication as well as memory issues. You will also explore the medical definition of autism and come to understand the general characteristics. Presenters will be Peggy Bartmann, CESA 6 Autism Consultant, Chris Stanaszak, MSE, LPC, NCC Mental Health Therapist and Sara Devine, MT-BC, MSW, CAPSW Music Therapist. Each person must register separately.
