Our philosophy is to be constantly working to improve our curriculum to refelct best practice in education.  The Hortonville Area school district dedicates professional development time to ensure we have a cycle of ever improving curriculum for our students.  When writing curriculum our teachers apply the four lenses of Technology, Differentiation, Rigor and Relevance and 21st Century Learning skills to ensure a high level of student engagement and achievement.

Curriculum Writing Peer Review Process
 
  1. Staff members will be informed of their curriculum writing teams. The team will include:
    1. Staff members (the curriculum authors)
    2. A colleague from outside department
    3. Someone who teaches above OR below grade level (within your department if applicable)
  2. The curriculum team previews the Build Your Own Curriculum (BYOC) course document, meets to discuss this document, and finally completes page 2 and 3 of this document as a team (one rubric turned in per team).
  3. Upon review of the course, the curriculum team makes a recommendation for level of publication.
  4.  An administrator will sign off.
Seven Hour Requirement Reimbursement Form

Each INDIVIDUAL teacher must fill out the following information and submit this form to your building principal.
