Professional Development Opportunities for Teachers
through Polar Bear Summer Academy
Hortonville Area School District (HASD) is offering professional development and learning opportunities for teachers both in Hortonville Area School District and for educators from other area school districts through the Polar Bear Summer Academy that will take place on August 5-9, 2013.
Courses offered during the summer academy are developed and taught by HASD staff that are experts in the topics of focus. The 2013 academy is a culmination of a great deal of research, planning, and support from district staff and Board of Education. The following is from an HASD teacher who attended summer academy:
“This was my first Polar Bear Academy and it was a highly valuable experience! Not only did I learn new ‘tricks’ that I will implement in my classroom this year, I also formed and/or strengthened relationships with my colleagues. Perhaps the best feature of the workshops was the imbedded time to immediately practice and apply our new learning.”
Join your colleagues and meet educators from other area school districts for a week of academic discussions, learning opportunities, and a time to prepare for the 2013-14 school year.
