Professional Development Opportunities at HASD Polar Bear Summer Academy
Hortonville Area School District (HASD) is offering professional development and learning opportunities for teachers both in Hortonville Area School District and for educators from other area school districts through the Polar Bear Summer Academy that will take place on August 8-12, 2016 at the Hortonville High School.
Courses offered during the summer academy are developed and taught by HASD staff that are experts in the topics of focus. The 2016 academy is a culmination of a great deal of research, planning, and support from district staff and Board of Education. Course offerings this year range from “Standards Based Grading in Mastery Connect” to “Digital Projects using Office 365” to “Differentiating and Personalizing Learning through Blended Education”! The following is from an HASD teacher who attended summer academy during summer 2015:
“I can't thank my instructor enough for all of the help she has given me this week. I am so excited to use all of the new resources that I have been exposed to this week. She was very patient and helped me troubleshoot as I was learning to use new programs. She is a fantastic teacher and was always willing to research how to use programs and sites that she hasn't used herself. I hope she teaches at the Polar Bear Academy again next year.”
Join your colleagues and meet educators from other area school districts for a week of academic discussions, learning opportunities, and a time to prepare for the 2016-17 school year.
