What is Open Enrollment?
Wisconsin's public school Open Enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend school districts other than the one in which they reside. For more Frequently Asked Questions about Open Enrollment, please log into the state DPI website here.
Open Enrollment is for students who live outside of the Hortonville Area School District and want to attend school in the District or for students who live in Hortonville Area School District but wish to attend school outside the District.
If a current student moves out of the school district during the 2024-25 school year but wishes to remain in his/her present school, a parent must fill out a Tuition Waiver for the current year and apply for Open Enrollment the following school year. Please contact Student Registration for an application.
2025-26 Open Enrollment
The traditional open enrollment regular application period runs from February through April each year. This year, the open enrollment window opens on February 3 at midnight, and ends April 30 at 4 p.m.
Applications made be obtained through the District Office or on the DPI website.
