Welcome to Honors Physics at Hortonville High school.
What is physics?
Well chemistry is the movement and interaction of very small things and physics is the movement and interaction of much larger things. Because we are studying the physical occurrences of everyday things conceptual physics is in many ways exciting an eye opening. It is not uncommon for a student to just look at everything happening around them with a different perspective. We then apply a mathmatical model that attempts to mimic what we see in everyday life. Applications to everyday life are litterally everwhere.
Topics.
Motion- How do I describe and calculate the motion of an object?
Forces - How do forces cause things to move or stop moving?
Gravitation: Do these forces apply to all the planets and space?
Energy: What is energy and is this really the driving force that causes all movement?
Momentum and collions: How do we make cars safer during crashes?
Ossilating motion: Is this when types of motion repeat over and over again?
Mechanical waves: How is sound produced?
Electricity: What, why and how is my new battery moving electricity through my phone?
