  2. What are you most proud of in your experience at Fox West Academy?  What did you need to do to accomplish this task?

9/29--7th Grade Reading:

Students should be following the project tasks outlined in Project Foundry (a web-based project organizer). The next deadline is to have their script outlined by 10/5/11. Use this link to for an example on how to outline the script. http://www.bmyers.com/public/650print.cfm

9/27/2011 *All FWA Students

Daily Planner:

  • Responsible students are required to keep an up-to-date record of what we have done/what needs to be done at Fox West Academy through a written or digital planner.
  • Every day there should be brief entries that summarize the activity or topic explored.
  • Students, along with advisor, will self-assess planners using the following rubric...

We will assess planners (either digital or written) several times throughout the year using the following scoring system:

1 - Extremely limited planner use; most entries too short to be meaningful.
2 - Mostly short entries, one or two words; student would have difficulty explaining events/tasks of the day.
3 - Brief entries that recap major events of the day; student can easily recall events/tasks.

4 - Short, detailed sentence or phrase for each subject every day. Anyone that read this planner would understand what was completed and what needs to be done.

9/27/2011 *6th and 7th Graders

  1. Insert your MAP testing results in the research section of your PLP binder
  2. Log in to Project Foundry and remove only tasks you have been instructed to delete.
  3. Add at least one event or task to the Project Foundry Calendar.

To create your own binder cover:

1. Open the PLP Cover (Word Template) above.

2. Log in to Skyward

3. Copy your picture (ctrl + c) from Skyward

4. Paste your picture into the PLP Template

5. Type your name in the appropriate area.

6. Save the file into your documents.

3. Detect distance***

4. Detect dark Line***

5. Hit red ball***

6. Follow a line***

***Along with your robotic programming, you must research the components of a "Green City."  What does this mean?  What are the elements of a Green CIty?  Advantages and disadvantages?  Please read the following articles:

  1. Sustainable Cities (article online). Take notes on what you read in your own words (not just c & p).
  2. Eco-cities of the Future p.71-15 ("Scientific American - Earth 3.0" p.71-75 in the classroom shared folder - Green City Resources).  Take notes in your own words.
