Reactions
CHEMISTRY
SUMMERY: Gain general knowledge of how to write reactions and balance reactions. There are many types of different reactions; we will be taking a few different types. These Redox reactions, Solubility, acid base neutralization.
OBJECTIVES:
I) Solubility Reactions:
-
Students should be able to indicate the factors that affect the solubility of various ions.
-
Students should be able to write molecular, ionic and net ionic equations for solubility reactions.
Note: Different combinations of different ions have different solubility
-
Students should be able to determine the factors that affect solubility.
-
Students will be able to write and translate reactions from words to formulas.
-
Students should be able to predict the product of solubility processes.
II) Students should be able to determine if a reaction is a Single Replacement.
-
Students will be able to identify a reaction as single replacement.
-
Students will be able to identify the products of a single replacement reaction.
-
Students will be able to write and translate reactions from words to formulas.
-
Student should be able to recognize and balance a combustion reaction.
Note: Acid Base reactions will be covered in a future chapter.
