Greetings HHS Parents,
As the calendar moves forward to the beginning of the school year, I wanted to provide you with some brief information. The first day of school for our 9th grade students and Link Crew members is September 1, 2016. 10th grade, 11th grade, and 12th grade students do not report to school until September 2, 2016. All students report to school with a brief welcome in the HHS fieldhouse on September 2nd. Link Crew members will be working with our 9th grade students on September 1st to orientate our incoming students to the building, schedule, lunch procedures, and other various helpful hints to get the school year started in a positive direction for our new students. Our Link Crew team does a tremendous job of assisting our 9th grade students on the first day of school and throughout the academic year.
Student schedules will be available in the middle of August. We populate student schedules based on student requests to determine the amount of sections to run in the master schedule. Students have selected courses as well as alternate courses to assist our master schedule team build our schedule. Schedule changes are extremely difficult and at times not possible to make in the summer and fall based on the schedule build process. The daily schedule and our Tuesday schedule are posted on the school website. The Tuesday schedule is a late start for students as our high school staff collaborate in their content teams. Even though the school day starts at 8:25 a.m. on Tuesdays, students are welcome to be at school at the normal start time. The HHS Commons and Library Media Center are both open to students on Tuesday mornings.
The school district has an open house from 3:45 p.m.-5:45 p.m. on the evening of August 30th. Please stop in at Hortonville High School during open house to walk through the building and meet your new teachers and staff. If you have any questions, please contact the HHS Main Office at (920) 779-7933.
We are excited about the beginning of the new school year. See you soon!
